7 different ways to use mosaic tiles in your home

Mosaic tiles can add colour, patterns and texture to almost any room in your home. Mosaic tiles are also available in many different shapes, sizes and styles – not just those tiny squares – so be sure to make yourself familiar with the variety available before embarking on your tile journey.

Where can you use mosaic tiles?

Most people use mosaic tiles in rooms such as bathrooms, laundries and kitchens. However, you can definitely use them on walls and floors in any rooms if you want to make a style statement. But if you want to use mosaic tiles on the floor, be sure to check with the retailer that they are robust enough to withstand daily wear and tear from feet and furniture.

Top tips for mosaic tiles

  • Use similar-shaped tiles in similar colours for a contemporary look
  • Use small tiles in a single colour to add texture
  • Mosaic tiles in interesting shapes are great for creating a focal point o

1. Patterns

Mosaic tiles are perfect for creating patterns on walls, as splashbacks in the kitchen on around the vanity in the bathroom.

2. Texture

Mosaic tiles in interesting shapes and similar colours, such as these hexagon marble tiles, create texture in a room without adding too much colour, and feel luxurious.

3. Statement style

Perfect for a statement splashback or feature, these scallop tiles are easy to clean, add interest to an otherwise neutral space, and look amazing when installed correctly.

4. Design-led interiors

Mosaic tiles can be used as a starting point for any interior design scheme and make a workhorse room, such as a bathroom or laundry, feel sophisticated and design-led.

5. More is more

Go big or go home. Think repetitive patterns and neutral vanities.

6. Play with scale

Contrast a wall of teeny-tiny mosaic tiles with large-format tiles on the floor. It’ll feel like a single colour on the walls, but with plenty of 3D texture.

7. Play with art

If your home has what it takes to carry off an art-installation in your bathroom, then this daring style might be more your thing.
