Gather your supplies
60 x 90cm primed stretched canvas; 4 A4 sheets of thin white card; 1-inch circle punch; craft glue; roller; sample pot Dulux Wash & Wear Low Sheen in Island Sea; foam roller; wide flat paintbrushes; small flat paintbrush; Jo Sonja’s Artists’ Colours in Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Yellow Light, Aqua, Ultramarine, Transparent Magenta and Warm White; Jo Sonja’s Satin Varnish
Step 1 Using roller, paint canvas with 1 coat of Dulux Wash & Wear. Leave to dry.
Step 2 Load 1 wide flat brush with Magenta. Load a second brush with Cadmium Orange. Apply parallel strokes of each colour to 1 sheet of thin white card, blending colours as you work to overlap. Leave to dry.
Step 3 Repeat Step 2 with remaining thin card and each of the following 3 colour combinations: Ultramarine with Aqua; Cadmium Orange with Cadmium Yellow Light; and Aqua with Cadmium Yellow Light.
Step 4 Using 1-inch circle punch, cut dots from each sheet.
Step 5 Using a pencil and ruler, find centre of canvas. From there, rule a grid vertically and horizontally to lightly mark out on canvas placement of dots.
Step 6 Using craft glue, adhere dots to canvas, arranging colours randomly.
Step 7 Using small flat brush, apply a second coat of Island Sea to background around each circle to cover pencil marks.
Step 8 Create a mix of 1 part Warm White to 2 parts Satin Varnish. Apply a thin layer to background around circles. Leave to dry.
Step 9 Apply a coat of Satin Varnish over entire canvas. Leave to dry.
