Take multitasking to the next level using your dishwasher.
It turns out, the humble kitchen appliance is perfect for cooking salmon. You can even wash your dishes at the same time.
Earlier this month, celebrity chef John Torode told This Morning the dishwasher is the perfect solution for cooking whole fish that won't fit in the oven.
"Say for Christmas when you want your whole decorated salmon," John said. "You can't fit it in a pot, you can't fit it in the oven.
"The dishwasher! Seriously, wrap it in foil. Put some lemons in the middle. Wrap the whole lot up. Get a load of foil. Top of the dishwasher, hottest one for the whole cycle."
The idea, however, isn’t new.
An article dated July 31, 1986, published in the Los Angeles Times reveals their recipe for the dish.
But as the publication points out, it’s a good idea to give your dishwasher a complete cleanse before cooking your fish to remove any food particles.
While there's a certain novelty to preparing food in a dishwasher, waiting two hours for fish to cook doesn't sound ideal.
