Coles to launch Christmas-inspired Little Shop minis

Supermarket giant Coles will capitalise on the success of its Little Shop campaign earlier this year with a new Christmas edition, to be released in time for the festive season.

Five new additions to the collection - mince pies, a pavlova slab, Christmas crackers (bon bons), a gingerbread biscuit and a limited edition Coles gingerbread ice-cream - will be made available from December 7.

A Coles spokeswoman said “Santa’s little secret is out of the stocking”, with customers to receive one free Christmas replica product for every $30 spent in store or online.

There will also be a limited number of special-edition Christmas stocking collector cases available for purchase for $4.

“We were blown away with customer feedback to Little Shop when it launched in July this year so we wanted to bring customers a little extra as a surprise this Christmas,” the spokeswoman said.

Coles’ initial collection was a massive hit after launching mid-year.

Among the collection were 30 replica pieces including Vegemite, Nutella and Weet-Bix, with extras including collector cases and shopping baskets also proving popular.

It spawned countless social media pages where people could trade for pieces they needed to complete their collection.

It was so popular Coles extended the campaign to run through to September.

Competitor Woolworths has also tried its hand at collectables, releasing Christmas Pop-Outs.

The campaign features 12 Christmas-themed cardboard characters.
