With the nation facing a surge in cold and flu cases, the report titled ‘The Cost Of A Lost Winter: Australians' preparedness and attitudes to winter cold and flu’ had some intriguing stats.
The research found that while 70% of Aussies are doing more now to prevent sickness than they did two years ago, around half of all Australians feel only ‘somewhat prepared’ for the winter cold and flu season (46%). Despite some being prepared, over 9 in 10 Australians have worries when it comes to getting sick (91%).
In addition, almost 1 in 3 Aussies are worried about how sickness will affect them socially (27%), their mental health (27%) and lost income from being sick (27%).
But when it comes to the younger generations, millenials are more likely than Gen Z, Gen X and Baby boomers to experience 'FOMO' when they are sick.
