The last visible supermoon for the year is here.
A supermoon is a rare lunar even where the moon is closer than usual and can appear up to 14 per cent larger than normal.
Previously, the last visible supermoon was November 14, 2016, and was the closest since January 26, 1948.
“On Monday, less than a day after the official December full moon, the moon will make its closest approach to Earth for the month, coming within 357,492 kilometres of our planet at about 3.45am,” reports The Sydney Morning Herald.
Many have taken to social media to share their snaps – and they’re amazing.
