Step 1: Pour vodka into water
Pour 1 cup of vodka into the washing machine tub as it fills with water. Use warm water and for colored towels and hot water for white towels.
Step 2: Add laundry soap
Add laundry soap into the filling tub. Once the laundry soap is in, put a load of towels into the washing machine.
Step 3: Let towels soak
Once the tub is full, pause the machine and let the towels soak for 1 hour. Soaking will allow both the soap and the odor-fighting vodka to get into the fibers of the towels for a deep clean.
Step 4: Wash normally
After letting them soak in the vodka, laundry soap and water mixture, wash the load of towels normally.
Tip: Wash in small loads
For best results, don't crowd the tub of the washing machine with towels. They need room to breathe to get completely clean. Cleaning towels in small loads also makes for easier and more complete drying on a towel drying cycle.
