Step 1 Refer to cross-stitch diagram. Separate red cotton, then use 2 strands for cross-stitch and backstitch. Centre design on linen and stitch, working stitches over 2 threads of fabric. Press finished piece on wrong side.
Step 2 Using a watersoluble marking pen and heart outline on the stitch chart as a guide, draw a heart shape on back of stitched piece.
Step 3 Place cross-stitched linen on top of red cotton fabric, right sides together. Stitch on the marking-pen line, leaving an opening along 1 side for turning. Cut out heart 1.5cm beyond stitching. Clip into the curves.
Step 4 Turn heart right-side out, stuff with fibrefill and sew opening closed. Hand-sew a ribbon hanging loop to top back of ornament.
