The German supermarket chain opened a pop-up restaurant, Aldi Bistro, in Germany offering a three-course meal for 7,99 € (AU$12).
Blogger, testthebest1807, recently visited the restaurant located in Munich and shared a rave review online.
The diner said she enjoyed an early autumn soup as a starter. For the main, there is a choice between “chicken breast on zucchini gnocchi, Alaska Pollock with mustard sauce and cucumber salad or tortellini with rocket foam and walnuts.”
Additionally, the woman purchased a coke for 1€, saying, “you can’t get that anywhere."
“It was really yummy and the waiters were really friendly too…and speedy! I’ll definitely come back,” she added.
The menu changes each week to reflect produce in stores.
Aldi spokeswoman Sandra Sibylle Schoofs told The Mirror: “In the middle of the city centre in Munich, we not only create a central meeting place for everyone, but also give our customers the opportunity to try out delicious recipes and take them home.”
Sadly, the restaurant is currently only open in Germany, but we certainly hope Aldi brings the concept to Australia.
