Having smooth, soft lips is key to pulling off both the boldest colour that takes your fancy and the softest nude. So regardless of your preference be sure to give your lips the TLC treatment before you next paint your pout.
Step 1. Exfoliate
Remove surface dryness to create a smooth canvas. Massage a facial scrub over your lips for about 10-20 seconds. If you don’t have one make your own - in an egg cup mix together a half a teaspoon of sugar with one of coconut oil.
Step 2. Plump-up
Apply a soothing, nourishing lip balm. Allow it to be absorbed for 5 -10 minutes or while you’re doing the rest of your makeup. Wipe off the excess before applying lipstick. Lips easily become dehydrated so they’ll instantly feel more loved.
Step 3. Paint
Define the outline of your pout with a lip pencil, using a shade close to your lipstick. Apply lipstick using a lip brush, blending in the liner. If you’re wearing a soft or nude shade having a clean edge is not as important so it’s fine to apply the lipstick directly.
Keeping lips protected from the sun, wind and cold will help to keep them soft and smooth.
